Subscription
I preordered the oura ring way back when, and hate subscription model they have moved too. $300 for a ring PLUS needing a pricy subscription is dastardly.

Annoying
Of course the fact that ring won't serve the purpose without monthly subscription is a complete scam as is (you should be handing rings out for free than paying monthly would be justified). But the fact that ring just doesn't calculate your scores if it's only 25% charged when you go to bed and still not dead in the morning - it's just ridiculous.

With the update, [name] slows down, provides [name] "naps" that do not exist, and does not recognize activities very well. Other than that, basically pretty ok.

New update problem
The new update makes the times unreadable when looking at day time stress with the font on the phone made larger. The old update worked fine. Now I need to make all my phone font small to be able to read the times, which is bad because I'm old and need the font larger. iPhone [number] max.

Sleep time inaccurate for night work
I use it mainly for sleep tracking and detecting a sickness early. Unfortunately the sleep tracking can be inaccurate for those of us that work night shifts. If one of your main sleep cycles (longer than 3 hours) ends after 6pm, then it will count it for the following day. This results in some of my sleep scores being grossly over inflated when I wake up after 6pm. Like the app reporting that I slept 13 hours and giving me a score of over 90 when, in reality, I only slept about 5.

Please add the ability to add a Workout day after
Why can't you add a workout the next day? Sometimes I forget to add my workouts in manually and the app will not let you add it after midnight. This is a very frustrating aspect of [name] that I have discussed with numerous other [name] users. After over 3 years of using this app im suprised this still hasn't been addressed. Thanks

Ring can only access one device
I am stunned that in [number] somebody sells a product that cannot access my account across multiple devices. Apple Watch can. Fitbit products can. The [name] ring is the only product that you can only use on one device: your iPhone or your iPad but not both. They say it's because of issues updating information. That's amateur-hour stuff. Like any other well designed tech it should sync across all devices. It's [number] not [number]. Seriously considering returning this $450 low tech ring.

Meh it’s ok
Honestly for £300 and an ongoing subscription, after nearly a year of usage I would expect far better reliability. The app and the ring are notoriously buggy collecting and analysing my data. It consistently misses my naps or workouts. Sometimes it picks up a workout a whole day later. No ability to accurately manually record most other types of workouts eg swimming so I have to select ‘indoor running' when I do record it. If I don't manually record my swimming sessions it won't pick up much of it if at all. So it's not accurate, unlike for instance my friend's Whoop. Support take a long long time to respond to you and when they do, it's always a generic either: ‘you're probably not wearing it correctly [i am]' or ‘we're already working on this issue, thank you for the feedback'. The UX leaves a lot to be desired too, extremely cluttered, the sections from the nav at the bottom are weird such as the resilience tab - what is this tab really about? How is the ‘Resilience' tab really that different from ‘Readiness'? Why weren't they merged? Most of the resilience scores come from the readiness data…?!! And then..what am I supposed to do with the information in the resilience tab? Rather than just tell me things about my ‘resilience', whatever that means, and my stress, how about give me tools and videos to improve my scores rather than hiding all of those valuable resources inside the randomly named ‘explore' menu option and chucking that all inside a cluttered and confused burger menu? Surely if the resilience section is where you're telling me about my stress then you should give me relevant meditations and videos to help me fix the stress you're spotting for me? Sleep tab… give me the sleep meditations inside that too.. stop lecturing me about my scores and help me improve them. Often the graphs don't make much sense where they don't let you click on them to expand. Other inflexibilities with graphs: eg when my data isn't properly tracked, I have to try to manually add it or manually adjust the graphs - often tricky, would much prefer to directly manipulate the graph to mark things like workouts rather than adjust an abstracted time scroll wheel. In some cases (sleep graph) I can't adjust that at all other than to reduce my sleep!? UI design- pretty ugly, outdated and extremely masculine. But that's just personal taste. Would I recommend? Honestly, day to day I vacillate between giving this 2 stars and 3 stars. If I were to describe this in two words: expensively meh. Every time tech bugs appear where my stuff isn't tracked I heavily debate taking the ring off permanently and stopping subscription. So far I've kept it because for main sleep (not naps) it's fairly ok. But I suspect that the 5 star reviews here come from fairly well off users, for whom the price is marginal. For everyone else, for the price they charge upfront and then continually afterwards, I really would expect much much better. I didn't go with [name] (who only charge for subscription) as I dislike the real estate it takes up on my wrist. But when a better alternative to [name] arrives, eg were Whoop to release a ring, I would definitely jump.

The App used to work more precise in the past. Since the last update my activity level steadily declines despite me not changing anything in my routine. The App/Ring usually noted when I took walks with my dog during the day but since the last update that doesn't change anything on the inactivity scale and the level declines even though I manage to achieve my goal of burning 500 additional calories a day. This is a huge discouragement :(
