USAA SafePilot - Latest Quality Issues

Reports false infractions. Makes you appear as a bad driver when you aren't. I may possibly drive 20 miles a week, listening to the radio. I dare not switch to XM - infraction. How can I possibly be talking on a phone that I'm not using - infraction. Not worth it. Do you even get 10% off for being enrolled?

I am a safe driver, and I have no control over others' driving habits. A car pulls out in front of you, and if you need to suddenly brake to avoid a collision, you will get points deducted for this. This app is NOT accurate in how points are deducted.

Not exact
I find phone handling posted when I never use the phone when driving and harsh braking posted when there was none, all in an effort to keep the discount minimized

it is not properly recognizing who the driver is and who the passenger is.

Great app if it actually recorded what actually happened. It is all based on your phone and the gyroscope in it. if you move your phone, it considers it "phone handling" and deducts points. The "Harsh Braking" again is off your phone, so if you drop it, you could be deducted points for phone handling or harsh braking. There is no way to dispute or change what actually happened with your "phone".

No option for phone errors. my phones screen will often stay active a short while after being plugged in to the USB. The app often reads this as violation. My wife also uses my phone when I'm driving to change the music, that becomes an error or I have to input it as I'm not the driver in order not to get flagged.

I ride a lot as a passenger. This app always assumes I drive. I would really like it if there was an intuitive pop-up to ask about my last trip. I also do not like how the app essentially scolds me for not getting a perfect score. The expectation that I will not receive a phone call on a multiple hour trip is unrealistic and I would really appreciate that being dismissed if there was no hard braking or speeding conducted.

App tags YouTube Playlist progression, even on audio as "phone manipulation" even though there is no Phone interaction. This gives a negative event on your driving score affecting your insurance premium. Doed not appear to be a way to challenge these events

This app is not realistic. I was cut off severely by 2 other drivers forcing me to slam on the brakes yet my driving score went down. Also, I used my car to charge my phone so I could make a call and the app docked me even though I was not driving. Also, the app seems to know when I am not driving and when my boyfriend is driving which is even scarier. It also runs in the background and sucks up ALOT of battery to where I cannot use my phone.
