Needs to support CarPlay for five stars
I'm a big fan of Chirp, and frequently get sucked in by their great sales on audiobooks. I've built an impressive audio library thanks to them, and I will have a hard time getting to all the books that I have purchased so impulsively! I think it's the best value this side of public library apps such as Hoopla and Libby that make audiobooks available for borrowing at no cost. That being said, I'm very disappointed that Chirp does not support Apple CarPlay. Yes, you can use the “Now Playing” app to control playback, but even Libby, Hoopla and many other audio apps provide the same level of functionality offered by Audible and Apple's Audiobooks and Podcasts apps. One would think this would be a priority, given that so many audiobook listeners do so while driving. Enabling a touchscreen interface will improve user/listener/driver safety. It will also earn Chirp a fifth star. ⭐️

Unreliable app
Annoyingly, I just opened my Chirp app only to find that over two thirds of my library needed to be re-downloaded. If I can't depend upon the app working correctly there is little point in purchasing my audiobooks from this company. What's the use of discounted books if they are inaccessible? If this happens again I will certainly no longer be a customer. Thank you.

Unreliable
I bought a book and it started downloading @ 12:26. I started listening to it at 15:30, the book still showed as downloading. At 15:45 it stopped as no access to cell service. I was near the US border for part of the downloading & I figure the tracking info your app has did not allow me to download the book from a different country. I am using Chirp as I had download issues with Scribd. In fact I discontinued scribd as it was ridiculous. Now I will only listen to the books I bought & stop using chirp. Btw A LOT of your catalogue is not available in Canada.

App review
It would be helpful if customers who did receive a refund for mistakingly purchasing a book they already owned, could also have that same title removed from their library. So they don't make the same mistake again. I've noticed not every title in a series is available for purchase. Customers would like to know if their suggestion for a title, after a year, was rejected or is being considered. That way, customers aren't waiting and wondering if it'll show up in your collection.

It works great, but it does not have an Android Auto app. ALL of my listening is done while driving, so that makes Chirp far, far less attractive to me.

Troubles
My previous experience is with the Libby app from my library. I have no problems with it. My experience with the Chirp app is not so smooth. Tonight I opened it to resume listening where I left off and the app started at the beginning of the book. This is not the first time that it didn't know where I was. Also it has tracks that do not correspond to chapters in the book. I purchased the Kindle version of the same book so I could read it sometimes. If I read a chapter I have difficulty finding where to start the Chirp version to continue the book.

My books keep randomly stopping. I use them to fall asleep, and that's not an option if I have to keep pressing play at random times. When it works, it's great!

Overall, the experience is pretty good. They provide access to heavily discounted audiobooks that sound great. As an app, though, it's not the best. The Android Audio experience is lackluster at best, [name] support and running through AnyAudio does not allow pause, skip, or rewind functionality, meaning you have to manually do those from the phone directly. It also plays in the background improperly, such as continuing to play while on a call or after disconnecting Bluetooth.
