Awful
I use the latest iOS version and I updated the app to a new version, yet it's stuck in some type of a loop in the background and the app won't open. Upgrades are necessary and they are typically user-friendly.

The latest update is riddled with bugs. Whenever I attempt to watch a video, it abruptly stops playing after just 10 seconds. Please fix this issue promptly!

Good grief, from bad to worse
The app has been a disastrous experience over the last few years. Videos stop playing haphazardly, won't play at all, the wrong video plays when tapping a link, and now, with the latest update, (some) videos make the app crash (on 15 Pro). And not just videos; even reading a plain text article regularly results in spontaneous app crashes. There's no pattern, just frequent crashes. How difficult is it to hire a couple of professional app developers? And then, just before you release a new version of your app, have the app TESTED by professional testers and regular users? A single star, for effort, and that's being generous…

Erratic, unstable video playback
App still exhibits erratic, and unstable video playback behaviours. Sometimes audio plays with blacked out video. This on iPad (9th Gen) with latest iPadOS. Also asks me to log into cable provider every 18 to 24 hours, this is very annoying.

A news desert
CNN was never great but was always a good source of information. It now is a news desert like many other corporate media platforms only delivering a sanitized version of the news with no depth, courage, or integrity. Any reporter working for CNN is afraid to truly report anything that might be controversial or upset their corporate bosses or powerful interests lest they lose their jobs as a result.
