Settings could be better
The app works ok, and would have received a higher rating if it allowed me to save a favourite store. We only have one store in our city connected with this program, but because I won't allow it complete access to my location, I have to access & adjust a map each time to find my store. I'm assuming this is intentional to try & force me to allow location. Which I won't do. Without the above problem, I would have rated them 4 stars. Other than that the app works well.

Used to good
This app used to great! I was able to get meat, sizable produce boxes, and other interesting goodies on here. Now the stores near me (Meijers) never have any meat-I check almost daily, the produce boxes are hardly worth $5, and there's not much new added daily or even weekly. I'm disappointed that this app used to great but now isn't worth it.

Not worth the effort
Last year flash floods was literally a life saver for me a single mom. With multiple store offerings almost every in their fridge. Meat, dairy, bread and fruit/veggies. For the last 4 months or so it's drastically reduced variety of items to only sweet pastries and old fruit bags. So so so sad and disappointed in this app.

Was working great until the latest update. Now it fails to load. Claims no internet connection. Or No stores within 1000 miles!

5% "Service Fee" extra charge started with May. No proper notice given; been paying it without knowledge since. The check out process is deceptively same as before, it is hard to notice an extra add-on charge. I got no emails from Flashfood regarding service fee charges, as developer claims. It is hard to show any understanding until they clarify what happened to their values of finding expiring food, that was destined for garbage, a new home.

Good markdowns, bad service. I've used this three times, and had problems at pickup every single time. First time, the item I bought didn't exist. The 2nd, it took half an hour for them to find it. 3rd time, they tried to give me an item that was half the cost (and weight) of the one I'd purchased. The app also leaves you guessing on the weight of what you're buying, which sucks. I'd never have bought the 2nd (ribs) and 3rd (a ham) items if I had known how small they were.

Great idea but SLOW FF is such an amazing initiative, I've been a FF user since before covid and this idea to save food and avoid waste is fantastic. However, since the app's updates, I have found it to become slower and SLOWER. And they've added service charges. ho-hum what's next?

I just downloaded the app & used it to try & save money. Bought for price & surprise fee. When I went to the store, I noticed they have a discount section where I could have picked up my item at the listed cost, LESS THE APP FEE! Why would I give away money to the app when I can just see if the item is available in the app then drive over & get it without having money stolen by the app? How are you helping people who need to save money at all!? (Will update at other stores if process different).
