Lost access
After using the app successfully for years I suddenly found my details had “dropped off”. Numerous attempts to reinstall failed, with the app locking itself at different stages then refusing to accept my PIN, telling me it wasn't 4 digits (it was). I had to reset the PIN, only to be locked out for 24 hours due to too many log in attempts. Not happy.

Where is telephone banking?
Since one of the updates there's no longer an option to just phone through from the app it has just been replaced with some AI chat bot.from what I can see. After searching the number and phoning it, I had another AI that doesn't understand Northern accents, way to make it almost impossible to get through to an advisor and well done on palming off queries to an AI that isn't going to understand the complicated queries, I would ring up for. I shouldn't have to spend 5-10 minutes working out how to talk to the equivalent of a 4 year old in robot form to get through to a human. Fix it.

App is OK no problem but bank itself won't protect you if you made a card purchase for food delivery that won't show up. Instead gotta take complaint somewhere else. I'm glad I have not been a scam victim of large money if they can't sort out petty cash issue

Generally a good, fast and easy to use app. However I have deducted one star as, when I tap on view card details, the app prompts me to register for biometric approval. I don't want to use biometric approval as I'm happy with my passcode but can't get past this step so am unable to see my card details on the app. I am able to see my card pin using my passcode so why not the card details?

Transferring to a new device (Pixel 8) was crazy difficult. So many pins, passcodes and passwords. A web experience which did not load properly. A process which took less than a minute with other banks took about twenty with NatWest.

Decimal point on number pad!
I like this app in general however when it come to setting up payments it's sadly lacking. There is no option for a decimal point in the numbers keyboard. I am therefore overpaying for some bills purely because it's a whole number. This needs fixing before giving 5*

A tap too far
Pros: Clean interface, easy to navigate basics, yet lots of features packed in. Manageable security. Syncs perfectly with ApplePay. Lots of handy features that negates a call to Customer Services. Pin lookup, card freeze, add dates & country when going abroad etc. Cons: PLEASE FIX the cheque size error for those that tear off an A4 letter & message after advising to talk to local branch when they've all been closed for miles around is a little appalling. Overdrawn notification only works AFTER app has been opened, then way too may taps to mark as read. Often have to flick app to get accurate balance after transfers.

View mortgage deals function doesn't work. Download the agreement and it doesn't take you back to tick the box. Press back and it resets.

Important things to know
