Double Dipping
I have used rover for awhile now. The app concept is great and it really helps owners find pet sitters immediately. That's the only reason why it isn't one star. As a dog sitter, Rover takes 20% of all of your bookings. Then, they also charge the owner a service fee. They don't take anything from tips surprisingly. Ridiculous, that they take money from both the owner and the sitter. The money they take is more than a subscription fee to use the app would be. Rover made close to $30 from a weekend booking I just did. If I did 4 weekend bookings a month they would be making $120 a month from just me, making this the most expensive app to use that I have ever seen.

Non transparent price setting kills the user experience
Overall, the platform does the job, so far any dog-sitter we had was reliable. The main problem is the price mechanism. Before you send a booking request, you are not shown the total price that you are going to pay. With complex logic of price settings (too many rates with no exact information which rate applies when), the total amount is a complete surprise. Being able to see how much a service is going to cost BEFORE the request is sent, would make the experience more enjoyable

The app constantly loses connection, doesn't create rover cards, or freezes up. The company itself blames the customer, provides very little security or access as the sitter, automatically closes out and removes full access or view to late night walks or drop ins. The customer service always has a comprehensive stall and there's no phone number for sitters to call for assistance leaving little for accessibility to the disabled and further confusion of simple situations.

Rover takes 25% of money made by sitters AND charges owners of pets a service fee. Long time rover user, can no longer stomach seeing HALF my money gone after taxes and Rover. 👎

The app used to be great and easy to use. Now they make you set up a new Sitter Request every time you need to ask a new person--because they show you Sitters who are not available for the time frame you selected! Very disappointed yet another app forgoes maintaining a simple app that does the job to make passive income off sponsored slots for Sitters who aren't even available. (It used to be you could set the Sitting Order once then send it out to Sitters and one would accept. Now it's a mess.

This app looks like it was designed by an inexperienced developer, learning on the job and the UI/UX designer / team I feel I traveled back in time with little digital design capabilities. I have an account used my husbands number I lost access to and my husbands number is unusable, cant both be on the app now, if you actually helped me delete that account link review will go up... If you want an amazing designer for user friendliness, ease of use, designed with simplistic beauty (my husband)

it's a good service if you can find sitters near yourself, the app can be a little clunky to navigate though

Won't let me sign up as says my (London Zone 2) postcode isn't valid. It is valid, never had this problem before. Fix this please.

No. I don't want to use Rover to text, Siri
Since the last update. Anytime I ask Siri to text, it asks me what app I want to use, Messages or Rover. Disabling any and all of the Siri options in Rover changes nothing.
