Am I rating the bank or the app? Because the app is great (5/5), and the bank used to be equally great, but then BNS bought them and had to ruin a good thing (interest rates and the way the overdraft works reducing it from 30 days to 1 day-I only ever use it by accident but with only 1 day and me being not so vigilant about checking every ding from my phone, they end up taking $5 + 19% for the 3-5 days before I'll actually notice it, as I have so many accounts with so many institutions). Hold on paycheques is more like a joke
It will take almost 7-10 days to have access to your own money! Just $1000 will be available immediately unlike any other bank in Canada which allow you to have access to $2500~$3000 immediately !!

Good but lacks some features
I like the simplicity of the app but I can't specify the reason for the transfer in my transfer schedule, as it would appear in my monthly statement. This requires additional management to annotate a posteriori each occurrence of transfer for my accounting follow-up, which requires a tighter follow-up that could be avoided. For example, I make a transfer to my joint account for the school every month, I would like my current account statement to systematically mention the reason for this transfer in my monthly statement without me having to annotate each of the transfers each month. This would require a simple additional optional field in the transfer scheduling form, which is currently missing.

App doesn’t work
The app has completely stopped working. It was always slow and unreliable, but now it won't even open. I've been a Tangerine customer since it was ING and the Tangerine app that Scotiabank rolled out was never great. However, it's downright non-functional now.

A bank that is obviously not made for workers from abroad. Your requests for documents take a very long time to tell us that the opening of the account is REFUSED! In addition, you are asking for irrelevant documents, because when you arrive in Canada you don't have proof of Canadian taxes, nor a water or electricity bill, you barely have a phone bill. And when you are given the Quebec driver's license + passport + a telep bill

Not sure what is happening. App always worked ok, but now it turns off the fingerprint login. I have to turn it back on and then it turns off on it's own again.
