I've been on the app for almost a year and have only had 1 hired job! The inquiries come from people seeking help for pennies. (No exaggeration)! Thumbtack charges you for leads that dont even take the time to follow up or let alone respond to your initial response. This is a rip off! Don't waste your hard earned money on this money scam!

App does not work at all. Makes you upload a picture before doing anything. But the picture will never load. Waste of time.

App is glitchy and difficult to use. I wouldn't be using it if I didn't absolutely have to.

Good idea for an app and I'm thankful there's a platform to get your name out there, but charging every time someone emails you is a bit much. I understand developers want in on the action but the fees are too much. If they had an option to accept a lead and then receive their contact info, that would be fair. Also if you have a service that doesn't match their pre-selected services you can't advertise here. It would be better to have an “other” tab where you could fill in your services and maybe make separate profiles for different services. Instead you have to sign up under different emails if you're a pro at two completely different services.

I ve been getting leads from Thumbtack since 2020. I had to change my review. Thumbtack has been going down for the last 2 years. Leads quality are getting worse and worse. . They send the same lead to 5 different contractors. They never refund money any longer. They raised their pricing and lowered their quality of leads.

This app is a scam. I signed up and put my services within a selected area, but I kept getting on site offers from all over the country and they where charging me for it! I contacted support for a refund stating the Jobs are way too far (I am talking 10+ hour drives one way) and was denied. I checked my location and job setting and all where correct. I submitted a second request and they denied me again. I don't know how they can get away with this nonsense. I highly recommend not signing up.

I work as a technician and regularly use Thumbtack to find clients. However, my recent experience with this platform has left me disappointed. I've noticed that the cost of leads has significantly increased, and now, to get just one order, I have to compete with a dozen other technicians. This creates excessive competition and reduces the chances of success, especially for small businesses. I expected more support from Thumbtack and a fairer system for distributing orders.

I requested the thumbtack for $35 a week for cleaningt services and it was more money for services like pressure washing something I'm not doing right now so I didn't added and it was I could afford plus a wrote suddenly amount of miles where I could reach and Istated getting clients out of the miles I wrote I coul reach, pressure wahers and handy man then nothing I was been charged $35 twice a week something I didn't agreed but I paid and then I was charged but not getting any opportunities so canceled the thumbtack service and made the claim they haven't cleared the case at the bank so I haven't get my money back yet, for at least the last week that I didn't get any opportunities and I was getting the service I didn't requested and after the claim thumbtack started to send emails with jobs for power washer again and cleaning after I made the claim. Even I canceled the service and deleted the app. I paid for nothing and canceled and thumbtack didn't care I made the claim and they want to offer clients I can not take worthless app and service. They give you leads that tend to not hire you. And it could range from $10 to almost $50. And the clients refuse to agree to price that you're charging them. It gets to be annoying losing more money than gaining it. And instabook is a rip off, I had to cut off services because of it, being charged for it and the client either cancels or they're way out of your coverage area. Thumbtack are literally hurting small businesses.
