Unprofessional communication
My tour was cancelled and I was not informed. I booked a two-day tour on Viator. As it's low season, I explicitly wrote to both Viator and the tour operator asking whether the tour would take place. No response, except for Viator reassuring me that they had forwarded my request per mail. The tour was finally cancelled, which I understand if it's only for one person. However, I only learned that when I showed up at the tour operator's the day of the tour. The tour operator claimed they never got a message from me or Viator. I got a full refund with no problem, and made plans otherwise. It still would have helped to be informed beforehand.

Theft is Allowed
An operator I wanted to use in Milan. Paintnsip Milan by an operator named [name]. We paid were present and she “stepped out for a coffee” never returned and cancelled our workshop and Viator refuses to give me my FULL refund for what is effectively theft! Help line is people that speak like bots and give the same copy past PR response and they refuse to help and only side with a lying operator. Even photographic evidence is ignored by [name]. Don't expect safety on this app!

Use another App
I have found good tours on here, but nothing you can't find on other tour sites. HOWEVER the customer service for Viator is terrible. I had a guide not show up or respond for my tour. When I tried to reach out to Viator they said I was unable to be refunded. I had one great tour, but this ruined my experience. Left me with nothing to do for a day and the people at Viator were very unhelpful.
