The Wall Street Journal. - Latest Quality Issues
Android
May 8, 2024
The app needs a lot of improvements. The notification links don't launch the app. Instead, keep asking to sign in to the account. At times, the app launches embedded browser and requires signing again. It's annoying and painful, especially when users don't keep the cookies and passwords stored in the browser. Daily Newspaper download, and other content is good though.

WSJ is the newspaper of record for the U.S. financial community. Its reporting often provides insights that are essential to anyone following the financial markets and available nowhere else. However, except for these key articles, the quality of reporting is uneven and too often subpar, in my view. Overall, it remains a "must have" publication, but it would be nice to get more articles on industry trends and deep dives into companies and fewer on politics, sports and the arts.

App not an app
When I click on articles in the app it opens in the web. If you have an app, make it an app. Otherwise it's just a website. Lame

Recent revisions are terrible
Wow. What a shame WSJ began revising this app so dramatically in the last 6-12 months. It used to be near perfect. They have really bungled the rollout of the update. The blurbs in the what's news section are terrible, whoever is writing them now should be fired. Oh wait, they probably were as is reeks of AI driven now. Totally useless, a forth grader could do better.

I have the app installed on an android phone, everytime I open the app, I have to set my username and password, and even after set it properly, as soon as I clicked on an article I have to set it again. This is one of the most expensive subscriptions , one that you can never cancel. Its sad.

I like the WSJ, but this app is profoundly dysfunctional and often unusable
