Terrible
Since the upgrade in the late new layout everything personalised about it has now gone which teams it absolutely useless now for anyone trying to keep tabs of the news that they selected. We are just pushed news in any random order regardless of its useless or relevant to the user.

Was great until they changed the articles so you cannot select an image and zoom into it, around May 2024. On a phone device, this is unacceptable.

New app updates stink 🤮
I have read the BBC News app everyday for years. I have read the website online for years. The recent updates are a disaster. The layout of the app looks like a Jackson Pollack painting. It's hard to read and all over the place. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK BBC and fire the person that thought this update was a good idea. I'm switching to The Economist in the meantime. Disappointed. Do better.

Why did you ruin a good app?
The unnecessary update and absolutely atrocious new design completely ruined this app for me. I would have kept the old good version but it forced me to upgrade to the new crappy version.

The news is always depressing. There are very few positive or upbeat stories. All the notifications are either someone has been killed or someone famous has died. Not sure if BBC new is trying to depress people or not, but they need to focus less on death, and report positive stories too. It's got so bad I have given up reading the news on bbc

What the hell happened?
People download the BBC App for the news. The ‘live' tab no longer has audio. The UI is atrocious and blatantly just a web interface for the website now, with no caching of news stories. How did you manage to ruin what was the best news app when you're the most reputable news agency on the planet?

A downgrade not an upgrade
Terrible compared to the prior app. A downgrade not an upgrade. Makes news less rather than more accessible. Needs a World Service livestream button front and center. This app needs to be scrapped. Go back to the prior one BBC and start from scratch, this one is a nonstarter.

Great reporting and the site itself is ok to use. Not sure about this trend of leading with a picture and when you select the article then that picture is nowhere to be seen.

Bad update
Updates have effectively removed any personalization, not really sure whos running the tech team over there but clearly not up to task
