I had so much trouble with the app. Took forever to reserve.

As a host the app is buggy. It reverts to camping side of the app when I open it, answer messages or sometimes while I'm switching to different sections.

After downloading the app, I did a little test. I wanted to know the places in my region, and to my surprise, Hipcamp does not suggest SEPAQ or Parks Canada campgrounds, or even any private site in my region. Not sure if this application is reliable.

Awesome idea and platform. Just needs to be fixed as it glitches alot when putting dates in and also doesn't show you near by camp sites, it shows just every and anything. The only way I found some around me has been through google search then going to the app to search it.

Love the app however some of the terminology is very American and not really used in the Australian market

Think before booking or using this app
Hipcamp needs to keep campers safe and protected from the rude host/owners. We booked a campsite from this host per her instructions to call or text once we arrived. After driving 15 hrs+ I called the owner did not answer then she sent me a text saying text her instead of calling so I did that. Texted her refused to reply after waiting 15-20 minutes at her property the host refused to answer my call I called her twice then the 3rd time yelling on the phone who is this then hang up I sent a message via the app notify her we left the property she said she'll refund me but I have not receive any receipt nor email from the host nor Hipcamp. This was my first and only time I will use this app. You can't even leave a review on app to notify others that beware of the host/owner being hostile and rude.

Misleading cancelation policy
It was my first time booking on hip camp. I specifically booked a site that said I would receive a full refund. It was never disclosed that “Hipcamp's” booking fee was non refundable. Thankfully customer service gave me the money back via credit which I really appreciate. Will try the booking another time and see how it goes.
