Im a public safety officer. I figured signing up with my work address id instead of my drivers license. Because my address on my dl i do not want it shown because thats where i'd park my money and live w my family. Gig wants safe driver. Not licensed for moving violation? Poor customer relation and dare charged my card twice $135 for excessive cleaning. I took it for a wash at where i work. Also $810 for impound when it were never impounded. Sfo and sacramento dmv will get it cleared soon. Fired

There are no cars available in my area. This car service would not work for me. Unfortunately.

Being an essential element in the deal, the features and functionality of this app is as key as any and all else. And my experience to date has been that it IS serviceable- it works. But, it's still a bit clunky and sluggish when it come to displaying one's area map and available cars. my guess is that will steadily improve. UPDATE It *has* steadily improved. Not perfect, but they back it all up with mostly high quality, mostly available support. That usually irons wrinkles out.

Multiple bugs. Cannot use. Password reset button does not work (app crashes). Developers forgot to remove/disable the "Couldn't get a customer object" debugging Toasts.

Very buggy and constantly refreshes the same cars coming and going offline erratically. Or network just wont connect. Weakest car share app yet

It's great until it's not
I loved gig for a really long time. Everything about it was excellent. It's a total lifesaver in a lot of situations. But I had an electric gig die on me about 20 miles before the guage said it would (below the minimum estimated mileage left) and it was about midnight and I was an hour away from home (outside of the homezone as well) and I called customer service and they made it sound like everything would be fine. They called back to tell me a tow truck was 10 minutes away. Four hours later I finally had a friend pick me up. Customer service apologized and said they had switched tow companies and forgot to tell me. They waived the cost of the car for the day and that seemed fair enough to me. They told me the car was going to be dropped off at a specific charger any minute now. Every time I called AAA roadside assistance (who was towing the car) they had no idea who Gig was or what I was talking about or where the car was. The location of the car wouldn't update in the app because the battery was dead. I kept checking it and calling in and finally someone was able to tell me that the car had been dropped off in a parking lot with a charger like 15 miles away but they DIDN'T PLUG IT IN. It was the next evening by this time. so I had to find my way even further from home to go spend hours sitting in the car charging it. At this point I was an exhausted, broke, emotional wreck, I just wanted to go home. I didn't have enough money in my account to pay for the second day and I couldn't make it home before the second 24 hour period was over, so I just left the car where they had left it (except it was fully charged now and I cleaned it and everything of course) and I finally went home. I got an email from Gig saying they were going to charge me something like $300 for the tow and I emailed them back why I didn't think they should charge me (bc they left me for dead in the middle of nowhere for 2 days) and they didn't, so I thought everything was fine. I never planned to use the service again. Until recently, I was in a situation where a gig really would've helped out.. and found out my account had been disabled permanently. I'm still so shocked. They had apologized to me before. They knew they messed up last time we talked. Now I'm blacklisted with no explanation. They said I could appeal it, and then never responded. I had the most stressful and scary and expensive two days because of their lack of communication and total disregard for my well-being. I cannot wait until there's a competitor in the area because this is an incredibly useful service and just a great idea in general. There's just a terrible person or people somewhere towards the top. I would just suggest not to go anywhere you would mind being stranded for a couple days. Cuz you're not their concern but that car is 100% your problem no matter what happens. Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience. Lord knows GIG doesn't care. Lol

Had to uninstall, please stop trying to open up my PowerPoints from my Onedrive. I don't know why it was doing that, file extensions must be the same or something.

They over charge you definitely, they took 1500 of my money and guess what I didn't even get to use the car. It was my last money for me and my son, they constantly just taking my money off my bank card. I went homeless and I lost my job, they will lock you out your vehicle while it's still moving and say your in a stole vehicle they don't care about your lovely hood while in that vehicle. They advertisment is a lie. Everything is a lie with this company I'm going to sue. I want my money back
