The bank is good but the app is awful. I have to force close the app everytime I try to open it because it throws an error code and recently I can't even view my checking transactions. That's kind of the point of the app.

Navy Federal no longer values it’s members
Navy Fed even 15 years ago made a member feel as if the members time and effort was equally as important as Navy Federal's. No more. They make changes to their website that add multiple steps to any transaction you are trying to achieve, when you give up and try to reach an actual human the wait time on hold is excessive (sometimes to the extent you no longer can wait and have to go through the entire ordeal again later) then you have to punch 15 different buttons and tell the computer your issue knowing full well when you DO reach a human you'll have to go through the entire explanation again.

Okay app, terrible customer service, low rates on savings
The app is okay, one of the better banking apps. Too bad NFCU devolved into dreadful customer service, along with noncompetitive share savings and checking rates. Share savings at 0.5% and checking at 0.1% are unacceptable. Several other financial service providers offer 10 times that or more, along with friendly, kind, knowledgeable and helpful customer service representatives. Not NFCU, they are bottom of the barrel. No sense keeping cash or an emergency fund in NFCU. At one time NFCU was one of the best, [name] . Now they are just another credit lender, albeit with the worst customer service and worst savings and checking interest rates. The only reason I keep my NFCU accounts is a nostalgic hope that they return to being a reputable and customer focused provider. My first savings account was opened with NFCU in 1978 at age 16. They were with me throughout many life experiences on five continents. It's been a sad and disappointing experience witnessing their decline.

App not functioning properly
When you open the app and touch Face ID the app starts to open but you get co start spinning and the app never opens correctly. I have to close the app completely and reopen it to get it to open after Face ID is initiated. This has been going on for a long, long, long time. It should have been rectified by now.

"we're sorry" again
i cannot count the number of times ive received the error "we're sorry, our mobile app is currently not working..." blah blah blah. otherwise, okay app i guess, i think three stars is generous, both usaa and amex are more reliable and have better features
