PAY ATTENTION TO THE TRIP FEE
I've used Turo twice in the past and had a positive experience both times. Last week I was booking a vehicle for my kids spring break which came out to $1,200 which is fine since it was for 7 days. Not sure if this is new or maybe the fee was so low I never noticed but this Trip Fee is WILD! Trip Fee was $980 almost as much as the rental fee. Who's going to pay a $1,000 Trip fee on top of a $1,200 rental fee? Turo was great but these Trip Fees are ridiculous.

Scam for Hosts
Turo will kick you off the platform even if you did nothing wrong for false reviews written by guests. They are a sham insolvent joke of a corporation. Try Hyrecar or Getaround instead.

Inconvenient & Tons of Fees
It used to be that Turo was a good deal and very convenient. Now, it's jam packed full of fees including service fees, airport fees, and cleaning fees so a rental that's advertised as $50 a day really runs you $100+ a day. On top of that (and the aforementioned airport fee) cars will be parked in lots at the airport and you have to pay another $15-20 (from my experience) parking fee to leave the lot. Add the inconvenience of trying to search a parking garage for the garage…I promise you it does not make sense. Traditional car rental agency are cheaper, more convenient, and offer way better selection of cars.

Be careful of Who you rent from
I used the app & everything was fine until the one I rented from tried to pretend there was damage cause by me. I had PROOF via the images you have to submit & they still opened a claim against me. It was later dropped because the car owner let it go. Please don't rate someone IMMEDIATELY after your trip is over. Make sure they aren't trying to get you .

WARNING: I am a host and dc I rent my car to make a little extra income in these difficult times. The guest rented my car from January 2nd to 6th. He leaves with it in the mountains and on the day of return he calls me telling me that the car no longer shifts (manu gearbox). He was therefore repatriated and left in a garage. It turns out that the clutch was completely destroyed during the (snowy) climb since then, no news from TURO! FLEE!

Client: Yes, because I'm disappointed with the change. The app is much less made and less ergonomic. In addition, you can't talk to the rental companies before booking. So when you're renting as a family for a difficult day, you can organize yourself blindly without talking beforehand

Worst app I've ever been to, pages don't load and can stay stuck for 1 hour. Without any information, it is impossible to move forward to rent the car!

As a host, I sincerely regret yes, my car is almost no longer rented from Turo, Turo imposes on us the instant booking, so we no longer have the reserve of the right to choose to rent it or not, and when we can't rent it because the rental is too close, or it doesn't suit us, And well, it's a 25€ penalty and a drop in the ranking..., frankly for the hosts it's exploitation. It's a shame they don't review their policy on this.
