The app never works when needed - just a red blank screen. The account lock after 2(?) failed logins is ridiculous. Know how many passwords I have to keep straight?

An unreadable error message prevents me from renting via the app... and on the phone the service is horrible

App is broken for years

This app is broken for over a year. Email a code and text a code both error out. Website can't log in on chrome, safari or Firefox. IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS OVER A YEAR WHAT ARE YOU DOING HOW DO PEOPLE PAY YOU MONEY??

Clunky difficult to maneuver

There are many redundancies built into this app. I find myself having to re-enter information all the time. And if I elect to earn airline miles, a banner pops up telling me that they're sorry to see me go. I still rent from Avis, but do not enjoy the app.

Switching cards is a pain

If you're like most Avis users you rent cars for both business and personal use. You probably use two different cards. You probably want to have an option to choose a different card when you make a reservation or during the rental. That feature is supported by every major hotel, airline, rental car company, except Avis. You have to go into cards on file and change your preferred card or go to the counter. It should be simpler than that. It's not rocket science.

Exclusive to the Avis app, Avis Preferred members gain access to all features as well as exchanging or upgrading your car upon arriving at the rental location, quickly returning your car, locking and unlocking your car and more real-time rental features. Find your nearest Avis Car Rental locations, hours of operation, addresses and phone numbers at any time.

Avis Preferred members can also earn points by opting in upon check out. With the Avis app, you can make, modify or cancel reservations 24/7. Using the Avis app will also provide access to getting a receipt, viewing and reviewing past rentals and contacting Roadside Assistance for immediate help.
