Reviews have a problem
Their review system isn't giving them the feedback they need. When a parking garage oversells and turns you away, the reservation gets cancelled and you can't review the garage for doing the bad thing. In my case, I made a reservation a week ahead of time because I knew it would be hard to park - and sure enough, the garage had already sold the last spots when I arrived and turned me away despite the prepaid reservation. The attendant said he'd been turning away people all week. Yet the garage to this day is still on the app with a five star rating - because only people who actually got served get to rate the place, not the people they screwed. As a result, there's no actual way to tell which garages are good and bad on the app, making the app useless. Note that they always say in their responses here “you should have called or contacted us at the time.” I did. They left me on hold for over 20 minutes before I had to give up or I would have missed the event I booked the parking space for. They did eventually respond to email and refunded it but…and this is crucial…then I couldn't leave the bad review for the garage because now it shows as “cancelled” in my app! As a result, I don't trust any of their reviews and can't find good garages that won't turn me away.

Terrible customer service!! Lot's of options to book parking, DON'T USE THIS ONE OR PARKING PANDA. The App double booked me last weekend. I didn't know until I saw the two charges against my credit card. When I called customer service, they told me I could not get a refund because it was after the fact. The App booked two spots. It's not the consumer's fault the App is glitchy and failed. I was charged $42.[address]up rate was $20. They won't get another penny from me.

Nonexistent garage
We wasted a half an hour following the instructions given by the website and by the representative, and there was no such garage.

No spot whenI arrived and won't refund
DO NOT USE THIS APP! There was no parking on arrival and they do not refund or give credit! It's a scam and they take your money. I booked a spot in NYC to arrive at 1:30pm for an event and leave at 8:30pm. When i reserved it, around 9:30am, they defaulted the start time to 8:30am and leave at 11:30pm. It was not possible to change it. This is a problem when you arrive at 1:20pm and the garage say "we have no space!" It is not possible to cancel (as the parking time has started!) or even get a refund. The parking attendant said never use Spot Hero! I tried calling (was a Sunday) no one picked up. My husband parked somewhere else. I got a hold of customer service after a few days later and said they would credit me. I do not want to use them again and asked for my money back. They said I would be refunded in a few days. They haven't refunded me but sent an email instead saying they will credit me. It's been 10 days and still no credit.

Pricing
So the actual price you pay through the app and what you could pay if you went directly to the parking lot is sometimes a win and sometimes a loss. It used to be a win. For example, today I paid $18 plus a service fee and I've could've gone there and paid $14 and no service fee. So in the future, I'm going to compare this to the pricing on other similar applications and for example at Yankee Stadium I now have a place that I can go to that's five dollars and 75 cents cheaper than SpotHero. So as they say in baseball, some games, you win some games you lose, and some get rained out.

Paid for a spot and when I got to it there was none left and couldn't stay there to call them because it was narrow and there was no space to pull aside. Contacted support and they said they'd make it right so I sent the parking receipt for the other garage I went to and not only have I not heard back, no refund has been issued. I used this app to take away the headache of parking in Toronto and not only did it add to the headache, I paid for something I didn't get. Never again.

Beware of scam!
I just paid $10 more than the lot in the app. Worst of all they posted inaccurate info on the lot saying it was assisted when only true for part of the day not the whole reservation time. I will not be using again!
