Always lets me down when I need it most.
The app has slowly gotten worse 80 percent of it is a Toyota upsell. This winter when it snowed remote start refused to connect 80 bucks a year are you kidding. Two weeks ago I went on a hike wasn't sure which trail to take getting back to the car. The App would not open unless I updated it. I'm on a mountain 1 bar don't know where I parked had to wait a half hour to update. Don't pay for this garbage app. The cars are great I'm disappointed in Toyota having a low quality unreliable app. The app should be free since they are selling your data to anyone they want.

Shoulda stuck with Honda
Never had to jump through so many fiery hoops to connect my phone to my Honda. That app was user friendly and connected the first time. Have been trying for a few days to get by new Prius prone to connect to my Toyota app with no success. Only vague messages such as “pending authorization”.

Great Car, Terrible App
This app seems like it was an afterthought pushed out with no consumer input. I've reached out MANY times to the customer support team to no effect. To be clear, they are friendly and polite but apparently we need to spend 45 minutes to an hour resetting things. Of course the dealer walked me through setting this up. They had little to no understanding of how this app was going to be influenced by what they were clicking through and just wanted to get the activation completed as I'm sure it's a tracked metric. My major complaints: 1. Single account per vehicle; share your passwords by design. I created an account for me and my wife which was a snafu as she can't have an account tied to her phone number AND be added to my account. I guess couples that buy cars and then get married need to call Toyota to straighten this out? 2. Notifications need to be on to use any features 3. Remote start is an add on subscription? I get the need to grasp at any and all reoccurring revenue but I stop at my car. This might be my first and last Toyota. 4. Infotainment system keeps prompting for some pin tied to the app. No clue what this is about. Look, I working in technology so this isn't me not being a “digital native”. This app is garbage, and seems more focused on selling subscriptions than anything else. Unfortunately it's tied deeply into the car and it's infotainment system.

Gets worse and worse
When app opens it doesn't go to the status screen. Why? That's why I'm looking at the app. When I do go to status screen the status isn't correct. It will show doors unlocked but when I execute a lock from the app the message comes back saying doors are already locked. Remote start from app takes more than once or twice to actually work. Should be able to adjust temp of hvac system from app. Yesterday it was warm here but this morning very cold. I don't am want the AC at 65 degrees I want the heat up.

Frustrating
I have a new 2024 Prius and less than a month in the Toyota app has removed my vehicle from itself leading to another 10 min of frustrations trying to re-add it.

Terrible App experience
I have had the app remove my 2024 Corolla and cancel my subscription automatically 4 times already and I never got a refund. Also the app doesn't show all the options I should be able to do (remotely lock unlocked car) for my car trim package. Toyota please pleas please fix your app. Your cars are the best, [name] 's ashame your app has so many problems.

App no longer syncs mileage. Totally useless for anything. Do you even read these reviews anymore? When we connect to car, the app should do something.

Digital key not Downloading after latest update.
Before the most recent update I downloaded the Digital Car Key and it work relatively fine. After the latest update around a month ago, the key disappeared from the App and it does not let me download it via wifi, carrier internet, full battery, charging, etc. It is a BUG. I have an Iphone 15, so you can test in your staging environment with you back-end team. Other functionalities work good.
